Pineknot Campground

USDA Forest Service 6900 ft elevation

Pineknot Campground sits in a shaded Jeffrey pine forest on the south shore of Big Bear Lake, a short walk from the popular Pine Knot Trail to Grand View Point and directly adjacent to Snow Summit. All 47 sites must be reserved in advance, and bear boxes are mandatory due to active black bear activity in this area. With no hookups but flush toilets and easy access to Big Bear Village, it's an ideal base camp for hikers and families.
